Content Producer Michelle Montgomery was the kind of kid who would bid farewell to the moon and greet the sun, then make her way into the garden to tell it to the bees.
Her ludic, history-loving father, of Cornish and Welsh descent, instilled a love of stories, myths and legends and taught her to listen with ears that embrace the unfamiliar.
After leaving school, Michelle worked in advertising, but the storyteller’s realms called her name. Unable to resist, she returned to study, completing web communications, arts writing and museum studies, graduating UNSW’s Bachelor of Art Theory with high distinction.
After graduating, she created web and app content for Sydney’s Royal Botanic Garden and Centennial Parklands and later worked as a researcher for the BBC. Committed to the history of remote and regional communities and charmed by the people of Broken Hill, Michelle relished researching, writing and sharing their stories on Storyplace.
