Rocks, Gems, Minerals and Fossils Collection (Gil Bennett Collection)

The Rocks, Gems and Minerals Collection (Gil Bennett Collection) is on permanent display at the Nundle Visitor Information Outlet in Nundle, on Anaiwan Country, in the New England region of New South Wales.

The collection derives from the tireless work of Tamworth geologist Gilmore Thomas Bennett (born died), a nationally acclaimed lapidarist, who painstakingly shaped and polished the 1554 specimens on display.

Gil’s gem and mineral collection at Nundle was donated to Tamworth Regional Council in 2008 by the Bennet family and remains a highlight for travellers along the Fossickers Way Tourist Drive.
