Heritage of East Lake Macquarie

Heritage of East Lake Macquarie (HELM) is a heritage group based in the coastal towns of Swansea, Caves Beach, Belmont and Catherine Hill Bay, on Awabakal Country, in the Hunter Region of New South Wales.

HELM promotes the heritage of East Lake Macquarie by sharing the region’s cultural material with the public through talks, public events, heritage walks and the local press. Among the group’s ongoing initiatives is a partnership with the Caves Beach Surf Life Saving Club (founded 1929), resulting in the digitisation of the club’s extensive collection of surfing memorabilia and records, with the assistance of Lake Macquarie City Council.
