Lake Macquarie and District Historical Society Inc

Lake Macquarie and District Historical Society Inc. is located in Toronto, on Awabakal Country, in the Hunter Region of New South Wales.

The society occupies the old Toronto Railway Station on the shores of Lake Macquarie and operates a museum, archive room and heritage research centre dedicated to recording and promoting the history of the region.

Included among its collections and resources is an extensive archive of photographs and records tracing the region’s growth, along with displays on Morisset Hospital, railway history and the former flying boat base at Rathmines.
