Maitland City Library
Established in 1946, Maitland City Library is located in Maitland, on Wonnarua Country, in the Hunter Valley region of New South Wales.
The City Library and its branches in East Maitland, Rutherford and Thornton, manage a large collection of books, records, images, audiovisual and oral history resources relating to the Maitland and Hunter Valley region. Its historical collection includes items that date back to the 1830s.
Along with hosting exhibitions, public programs and workshops, the linked libraries support local history research, genealogy and work hard to raise awareness and engagement in Maitland’s history and culture.
