Walgett Historical Society Museum

Walgett Historical Society Museum is located in the town of Walgett, on Gamilaraay Country, in northern New South Wales.

Located in the original Walgett Shire Building built in 1913, the museum features a splendid example of pressed tin interiors – believed to be the only example left in their area. Walgett means ‘the meeting of two waters,’ so there is an extensive display of photographs depicting life on the rivers. The Society has a vast collection of genealogical information and members can assist with family history research on request.
