Woolpack Inn Museum
The Woolpack Inn Museum is located in Holbrook, on Wirajuri Country, in the Riverina Murray region of New South Wales.
The museum occupies the former Criterion Hotel, built in 1895 and fondly remembered by locals as the ‘bottom pub’. After closing its doors in 1965, the historic hotel was refurbished by local volunteers and opened as a museum in 1971.
Throughout the impressive two story building are 22 themed rooms, furnished and filled with historic objects and displays that depict town life in the 19th and 20th centuries. In the grounds are collections of farm machinery and restored wagons, along with relocated outbuildings, including a 1872 slab-sided schoolhouse, blacksmiths shop and a reconstructed bakery.
