Madeline Shanahan is an historical archaeologist and historian with expertise in food, women’s and domestic history. She completed her PhD at University College Dublin where her research explored the development of recipe books in early modern Ireland. She has also published widely on the history of Christmas food and traditions.
Today, she is a Director of Extent Heritage and her main area of professional practice is heritage interpretation. She is passionate about providing opportunities for communities to engage with stories of our past in the public sphere.
