Maggie is a volunteer with the National Trust of Australia (NSW). She joined the National Trust after a working life that included 30 years as a professional librarian. In retirement, Maggie has returned to the pleasure of library research and her long ago degree in history and librarianship, but this time with a difference. Now she is the researcher and not the middle person.
Maggie’s work with the Collections staff at the Trust brings far too many interesting topics her way. But this gives her excuses to visit research libraries and explore far and wide online to follow lines of interest wherever they lead. For Maggie, the less that is known about a topic, the better the challenge.
Maggie has learned a great deal about hidden facets of NSW social and domestic history and how they bring quiet or forgotten lives alive again.
