Sulphide Street Railway and Historical Museum
The Sulphide Street Railway and Historical Museum is in the mining town of Broken Hill, on Wilyakali Country, in the Far West region of New South Wales.
The Museum occupies the former 1905 tram station. Its displays tell stories about the townâs industrial, transport and cultural heritage.
Highlights include locomotives and memorabilia from the Silverton Tramway Company, which was key to the townâs historic mining enterprise. Other displays include an exploration of the townâs migrant and medical history, and a mineral collection that once belonged to Tess Alfonsi â the townâs well-known historic âlady-minerâ.
